OUR STORY
Pilgrim Book Printing | A Conservative Christian Book Printer
Our story began in 2007, when our founder, Norman Miller, purchased his first printing press. It was an AB Dick 360 duplicator press with a chute delivery. Using poly laser plates and 11×17 paper, he began printing his first books. At that time the company was operating under Ridgeway Books and Publishing in Medina, NY.
In 2016, Pilgrim Book Printing was established as a separate entity from Ridgeway Books and Publishing. From there it grew to adding a 26″ Komori 2-head perfecter press running mostly 18×23.50 paper. As some of the accounts grew and demanded longer runs, Pilgrim Book Printing added more bindery equipment to keep up with demand. Our first saddle-stitcher was a Rosback system, which was later upgraded to a newer Omega-binder.
In 2018, as part of a church planting effort, the owner and some of the employees relocated to the current location in Stoneboro, PA where a new facility was built.
In 2021 production demands necessitated the installation of a Harris M110 web press which is still in use today for our saddle-stitch production. A 4-color Shinohara sheet press was added to produce our long runs of book covers. A this time we upgraded our Presstek Dimension platesetter with an automated Fujifilm platesetter. We also upgraded our Omegabinder with a Muller saddle-stitcher.
Since our perfect-bound paperback production tended to be in shorter runs, we investigated the potential of roll-fed digital book production.
In 2023, after much research and significant capital investment, we are pleased to bring publishers value with the ability to produce quality paperback production, cost effectively, in short to medium run lengths with our digital paperback book printing system.
